**This has not been edited. I simply started writing earlier today and this is what came out. Short, but to the point.
I’m not exactly sure what to write about. But, I feel the need to write. Every personality test or website has given me results stating that I am a creative person specifically in the area of writing.
However, creative is not a word I would use to characterize myself. Yet, where exactly does creativity originate from? Have I simply not discovered the from which creativity is meant to flow from within myself? Quite possibly. Is creativity meant to flow from the mind, the heart, or maybe the Spirit? Could it be a combination of the three, perhaps?
I am sure this varies from person to person. However, I have yet to discover where within myself creativity lies in order to release it. Something in me intuitively knows that it exists, yet it seems so elusive. I desire very much to discover this vast reservoir of creativity. Without appearing arrogant, I feel as if whatever lies deep inside has the potential to greatly impact the world.
Why do I believe this? Simply put, I believe greatness lies within all of us – we were created for it. Greatness for me will be vastly different than it will be for you. As general as it may seem, it is very specific to each individual. Yet it’s there, lying within each of us begging to be discovered.
Discovering that greatness is key. For some, like my wife, unforeseen circumstances may grab you by the heart and lead you right to it. Few seem to know what their greatness is from a young age. Others, like myself, seem to blindly feel along the walls hoping it is just around the corner. Nonetheless, the yearning is the same for us all; to discover our greatness and passionately pursue its perfection in our lives.
I do not want to be one who fails to discover his greatness. Or, give up not knowing it really did lie just around the corner. Our greatness is placed inside of us by God and it is the “glory of kings to discover it.” It appears cruel of a loving God to do such a thing. Yet, I am learning that He is hoping we realize the journey to discovery is just as valuable, if not more so than the discovery itself. He does not hide it from us to play some selfish game. He does it to encourage us to trust Him as we journey toward discovery. And hopefully, we discover along the way that He is the Greatness and has been all along.
**Sometimes when you allow your thoughts to wander and simply write as they go, you find out that they’re not wandering on their own. God through His Spirit is guiding them in a direction you may not see or understand at first. But continue to follow them wherever they lead. You may just discover that He was directing them all along.
